COVID Specific Guidance for Croquet
Designate one person to set up the hoops. That person is to sanitize the equipment before it is put into use. This includes the mallet used to put in the hoops.
Designate another person to put out the center peg and flags and if needed the clips and deadness board. The are to be wiped down and sanitized before use.
Designate one person to put away the hoops and one person to put away the flags, center peg, clips, and deadness board. All equipment, including the mallet used for the hoops, is to be wiped down and sanitized before it is put away.
Designate one person to bring out the bucket of balls. Sanitize the handle of the bucket before moving it.
Dump the balls on the court and after that only touch the balls with a mallet or your feet.
On completion of play use a mallet or your feet to put the balls back in into the bucket. Sanitize the handle of the bucket before putting it away.
Only move or position balls with your mallet or feet.
Avoid touching the hoops with your hands.
Do not touch or move another player’s clips for them. If you need to have the opponent’s clip moved for your shot, get them to remove and replace it.
Do not move deadness board markers with your hands. Use the handle of your mallet to move them.
Players should use their own mallet and markers. Equipment must not be shared with any player. Players should only pick up/touch their own mallet. Do not handle another person’s mallet.
Use of Club Croquet Mallets.
Club mallets may be used subject to the following protocol:
Only one person may use a mallet. It may not be shared with anyone else.
The handle of the mallet must be wiped down and sanitized when the person takes it into use and when it is put away.
